Templo wasn't born in a boardroom. It was born in a group chat that couldn't pick a date.
Luke Reimer
Founder, Templo
It started with a hockey game that almost didn't happen.
A few of us were trying to find a night that worked for everyone to play. Sounds simple, right? Except between four people with different work schedules, family commitments, and travel days, it turned into a week-long text chain where nobody could keep track of who said what about which date.
So I tried the existing tools. Doodle wanted everyone to create accounts and was covered in ads. When2meet looked like it was built in 2005 (because it was). Calendly is great for 1-on-1 meetings but terrible for group date selection. Google Forms works technically, but try parsing 12 responses in a spreadsheet when you just want to know "which Saturday works?"
I kept thinking: this should be a 30-second task. Create a poll. Pick dates. Share a link. Let people vote. See the result. Done.
So I built it. First for my friends. Then for their friends. Then for teams at work. And it turns out a lot of people have this exact same problem.
Templo is what happens when you solve your own problem and refuse to over-engineer it.
These aren't corporate values on a poster. They're the decisions we make every day.
Every feature we add has to earn its place. If it adds complexity without clear value, it doesn't ship. The best tool is the one that gets out of your way.
No ads. No tracking. No selling your data. We make money from people who choose to pay, not from harvesting attention. Your scheduling data is yours.
The organizer's time. The participant's time. That means zero unnecessary steps, zero mandatory account creation for voters, and zero bloat.
Our free tier isn't a crippled demo designed to frustrate you into paying. It's a fully functional product. Most people will never need to upgrade.
We talk to our users. We listen to feedback. We ship fast and iterate based on real needs, not imagined requirements from a product roadmap.
Templo is designed and built in Canada. Your data is hosted on secure infrastructure. We're a real team building a real product, not a VC-funded growth machine.
